SunKirb Ideas Partners with Inglis to automate homes for the disabled

SunKirb has teamed with Inglis to bring automation to the homes of over 20 people with disabilities to improve their experience in their living space and add to their independence. Imagine what it is like for a paralyzed person in bed to be able to control all their lights, room temperature, and doors without relying on an aid or family member to do this for them? SunKirb and Inglis are installing devices that are all voice or smart device controlled giving them the ability to accomplish this.
SunKirb Ideas LLC provides services to install consumer based smart home products that allow people with special needs and the disabled to control and enjoy their homes using technology. This includes voice controlled lights, devices, temperature controls and entertainment systems such as televisions. Individuals can monitor their space through online cameras, control smart doors (with automatic door openers and doorbell systems) and have certain house functions automated based on things occurring around them. For example, if a care giver arrives at the door, they can see and interact with them, unlock the door, and have the lights automatically guide the way all from their bedroom.
Inglis has existed for almost 150 years with the mission of enabling people with disabilities and their caregivers to grow in their capabilities and enjoy fuller lives. In relation to this project, Inglis serves disabled people living independently in the region through a network of community based services. More than 800 people receive resources through Inglis which include accessible and affordable housing and care management. In fact, Inglis is the largest disability housing provider in the greater Philadelphia region and New Jersey, and owns and operates almost 300 housing units.
Inglis is leading the charge to bring automation to the homes of the people it serves through its affordable and accessible housing program. This includes voice and smart device control of basic home functions and devices.
Inglis and SunKirb are starting with a project to install these products in 20 apartments for the disabled. To accomplish this, Inglis is raising funds and kicking off the effort with a bash. For more information go to www.inglis.org/thebash.
We're asking for your help in any way you can give it. This includes attending the bash, making a donation, or simply passing this information to a colleague who may be able to help.
If you have any questions, feel free to call me at 215-253-3848 or click on contact. This is an exciting project for SunKirb and Inglis and any support you can offer would be greatly appreciated.
Thanks!
